The terms governing your use of facetrustai.com and the FaceTrust AI identity-verification services.
Effective date: September 4, 2026
By using facetrustai.com, the FaceTrust AI consumer app, Merchant Desk, or any FaceTrust AI console, you agree to these terms. If you're using the Services on behalf of an institution, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for that institution.
FaceTrust AI links a NIN or BVN registry identity to a real, live face through a one-time verification, then reuses that same proof to identify people 1:N at a merchant desk, bank branch, or front desk. Outcomes are limited to a defined set — a match, no match, too close to call (routed to manual review), or a liveness failure — described further on our How it works page.
You must provide accurate registry information and hold a genuine NIN or BVN in your own name to enroll. Institutions must complete our know-your-business onboarding, including a verified responsible officer, before staff accounts are provisioned.
An institution using FaceTrust AI is responsible for how its operators and officers use the Services, for obtaining any consent required from consumers before verifying them, and for compliance with the Usage Policy. Institution-specific commercial terms (pricing, volume commitments, service levels) are set out in a separate order form or agreement where applicable.
No biometric matching system is perfect. Results marked "too close to call" are intentionally routed to manual review rather than auto-decided. FaceTrust AI is a decision-support tool for identity verification — institutions remain responsible for their own downstream decisions (approving a transaction, granting access, and similar) made using our results.
FaceTrust AI and its logo, product names, and underlying software are our property or licensed to us. These terms don't grant you any rights beyond what's needed to use the Services as intended.
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, the Usage Policy, suspected fraud, or as required by law or a registry authority.
The Services are provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, FaceTrust AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Services, including decisions an institution makes based on a verification outcome.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a separate signed agreement with your institution specifies otherwise.
We'll update the effective date above when these terms change and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice before they take effect.
