What cookies and similar technologies we use on this site and in our apps, and how to control them.
Effective date: September 4, 2026
This policy covers facetrustai.com and the FaceTrust AI consumer app, Merchant Desk, and Institution and Platform Consoles (together, the "Services"). It explains what cookies and comparable local-storage technologies we use, why, and how you can manage them.
Strictly necessary. Session and refresh tokens that keep you signed in to the consumer app, Merchant Desk, or a console, and CSRF/anti-abuse tokens on forms like the enterprise access request on this site. These can't be switched off without breaking sign-in.
Preferences. Small local-storage values that remember a UI choice — for example, which step of a multi-step flow you were on, or a dismissed banner — so you don't have to re-set it on every visit.
Analytics. Aggregate, non-biometric usage analytics (page views, feature usage) used to understand how the marketing site and apps are used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site ad trackers.
Face images, face embeddings, NIN/BVN numbers, or any other biometric or registry identity data are never stored in a cookie or in browser local storage. That data is handled entirely server-side, over authenticated API calls, as described in our Security page.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out of the consumer app and any console and prevent you from staying signed in. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on your ability to use the Services.
We'll update the effective date above when this policy changes and, for material changes, note it on this page.
